Domaine de l'Aujardière (Eric Chevalier)
Le Clos de la Butte Muscadet Côtes de Grand Lieu Melon de Bourgogne
Round 2 of blind tasting and we all got stumped, but then it was obvious. Pale golden yellow hues that match some golden apple, saline lemon zest, and orange pith aromas. Ripe and bruised fruit that blends in with honeysuckle and wax. Slight amount of spice with a dry and moderate acidity finish. You could see this a mile away being delivered on a plate of oysters.

Jan 29th, 2023Round profile, zippy acid, leesy mid-palate. Saline, mineral, steel, crisp lemon and apple. Lovely, refreshing, lengthy given its simplicity.

Jul 17th, 2018Upon first opening I wasn’t too impressed so I set it aside. Coming back to it 7 hours later, I was blown away. This is like flying in the Concord over the Grand Canyon. I feel like every time I open this I should be handed a plate full of oysters.

Apr 23rd, 2017Fresh melon, melon rind, lemon custard, bright violets on the nose. Quite pretty. Dry on the palate with a gorgeous stony, rocky backbone of slate and graphite joining the floral qualities and unripe pears/melon.
