Velvety texture with substantial tannic grip and only 12.5% alcohol. Farmed biodynamically and vinified with 33% whole clusters with only 20% new barrels used. This premier cru vineyard is named after the property's owner in the 18th century Renaud de Sessie and is a nice introduction to the domaine’s elegant style. Paired well with a brunch of steak and eggs.

2012 vintage. Very youthful and primary - red fruit, with hints of smoke, tan leather and Earth. On the palate, initially a touch astringent, especially on the mid palate. With an hour in the glass, rounder and softer, even with a silkiness and a coffee bean reductiveness that is extremely appealing. There's an elegance to the wine which makes it a crowd pleaser. Decent.
