Domaine du Pegau
Cuvée Réservé Châteauneuf-du-Pape Red Rhone Blend
Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of dinner. The 2012 Cuvée Réservée pours a deep ruby color with a slightly hazy, but mostly transparent core; medium+ viscosity with moderate staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with fabulous notes of ripe red and black bramble fruit: raspberries, Marionberries, licorice, red flowers, horse blanket, dried herbs, leather, and stony earth. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long and luscious. This is a very lovely Pegau that is squarely in its prime and strutting all of its stuff. Drink now through 2032.

Dec 2nd, 2024Consistently yummy. I would call this a balanced wine vs hot years which tend to be jammy and over the top.

Nice and classic. Good extraction without being overly hot or jammy.

Nov 6th, 2015Needed 2 hours to open up. Huge full body with layers of black fruits, needs more time in bottle. Had to try before buying in here. I would say a keeper for minimum of 3-4 years here. Impressive. CB

Apr 20th, 20152012. Pretty straight shooting flavors of stone fruits. There's some depth and weight here however, so I advise giving these a few years and I think they'll blossom into some really great...

Apr 7th, 2015Together with 2010, this infant shows great promise for the future, thanks to its sincere structure and polished fruit flavors. Usually, not my favourite producer but here they hit the jackpot.
