The runaway acid settled down after a couple of hours to bring precise, delightful and balanced pleasure.

A tad rubbery in the nose.

Exceptional wine, especially given vintage conditions.

Cranky. Tight, a bit green. Integrated as hell when you can get it open.

Quite opaque dark cherry color, which promises sappy, full throated grand cru flavors and this 1er cru Roumier delivers - Very youthful still, though the tartness and tannin have softened with bottle age. It’s at delightful place right now, paired wonderfully with a soy-sauce star anise braised oxtail.

Beautiful nose and green is dissipated
