Domaine la Soumade
Côtes du Rhône Villages Rasteau Red Rhône Blend
Once probably a super good ripe Grenache blend, now a gulpable, flat-fruit disappointment. Very odd this one is totally unwound already...

May 2nd, 2015My allergies have finally lightened up a bit, so I took advantage and drank some wine tonight! Choice of wine for this late evening: a Domaine La Soumade côtes du Rhône villages Rasteau 2009. Let me start off by saying this, I think this wine needs much more time in the bottle. On the nose the fruit aromas are there, but on the palate the fruit character is not enough for me. The tannins and spice are just dominating the flavor. Let me elaborate on the description below: Color-Ruby Nose- You get all types of berries, black cherry, and earth. Palate- On the palate you receive all types of fresh herbs, with a huge presence of spice. The fruit flavors are present as well, but overpowered by spice. RP(Robert Parker)-90 points WFB(Winefoodbowties)-🍷🍷🍷/5(3.5)
