Bright ruby purple. Nose is all crushed cherries undergirded by a classic stony/granitic nose. Fruit notes are lifted with a slightly carbonic character. Tannins are noticable but polished and seem more stony than vegetal.

Dark ruby. Mineral-accented aromas of red and dark berries and potpourri are complemented by a licorice nuance that builds with air. Shows bright floral lift on the palate, which offers sappy black raspberry, bitter cherry and spicecake flavors that turn sweeter on the back half. Finishes long and subtly tannic, with repeating floral and licorice notes. This is an almost delicate expression of both the appellation and the vintage. (Josh Raynolds, Vinous, August 2021)
