Domaine Marquis d'Angerville
Champans Volnay 1er Cru Pinot Noir
Nose has dehydrated cherry, faded Fall rose, dried blackberry, mild cedar, wet leather and moist baking spice.
Palate has dried raspberry, dried cherry, tart cranberry, cherry Twizzlers, dehydrated strawberry with light tannins and a medium+ finish. Satisfying for the vintage.
Decanted 3H.
Paired to an apple wood smoked rotisserie chicken, 24H salt brine, 12H dry rest, olive oil/Za'atar rub. Locally obtained (Mill River Farm, New Marlborough, MA) and roasted for ~110M. A challenge to outdoor cook in the cooler New England Fall temps of 50°F (10°C) today, but we made it successful with a hot grill. Local root vegetables roasted, below the turning bird, always a great combination.

Our 'dessert' wine back in the hotel, one thing about the Confrerie, their schedule is like a clock, love it!
