Well, I did not expect to be tasting this on a Monday morning - but the Kermit Lynch tasting is always full of surprises with both steals and icons. This falls under the latter category. Structured by a backbone of dusty tannins and a pillar of acidity, this proves less austere than I am used to with young Méo wines. Medicinal cherry, ginger, tarragon, and earth. What a way to start the week.

Served at No. 3 and my highest pointed in this bracket of 6. Similar to #2 This is why one loves Burgundy. Lush and rich. Fills the palate. A pretty wine. Hard to fault. Soft tannins. All in balance. Could drink this now but will cellar for 15 years.

GL Burg tasting 2/8/17. Complex nose with minerality and dark fruits and long finish. Not as much clay 100% new oak. Hints of mints and spice in nose. More elegant than big.
