Got a new label here. Like it. But the mouse is loose on the nose. He’s loose in a barnyard full of shit. The mouse is likely shitting as well. We could have a mammal centipede thing going here if we wanted to. Anyway I’m assuming the funk will blow off. But holy mouse/horse. Like I dry heave after I stick my nose in the glass. Previous vintages have not been like this. I‘ll be back on the nose but the palate has none of what the nose offers. This is what I remember. Sweet, tangy red fruits with good volume and concentration and super pure. Needs a few hours to flesh out but the palate is superb. Terrific structure and depth. Nose is getting much more cherry and the exterminator has arrived as that mouse is slowly going bye bye. Cranberry bog and complex cherry and now floral notes. Man to go from me dry heaving to something that smells pretty nice (9.2 right now) in 15 minutes is crazy. It’s like this wine is shit testing me. Literally. Yes this is the stuff. I can rate this. Wow the acids are coming in strong. This is some tangy Pinot. That’s the Jura style for Pinot and this is one of the most serious. I’m at a 9.2 now. I know air will change this a lot.

9.2 to 9.3 overnight as fruit got sweeter and it filled out.

Quickly becoming my favorite Jura Pinot this is a knockout in 2018. Nose is layered, dense and elite. Screams of place. Heavenly ripe cherries that are round. Really ethereal and just so impressive. Palate is round, tangy and elegant. Beautiful freshness and purity. Concentrated but light on its feet and one epic finish. Really really juicy and terrific powdery tannins. Sensing this needs air to fill out. But might impressive now. Amazingly, fresh, energetic and vibrant. Awesome. With air this is filling out but with mineral tinged tannins and structure. It’s more complete after 30 minutes but also less approachable. Let’s see where it goes.
