Strong showing for this 06 BBM from Perrot. Took a hour in the decanter to fully show, but well worth the wait

Dec 20th, 2018Somewhat closed on opening. After 30-45 minutes in the glass, aromas of roasted nuts, toast, smoke and baked apple emerge. On the palate, it's not as full nor as hefty some Bâtard-Montrachet's can be (the website notes 40-50% new oak on Grand Crus) and there is nice mineral overhang and fair acidity. Golden delicious apple, lemon peel, iodine and baking spice round out this classic white Burgundy.

Surprisingly and definitively mineral driven on the nose. Sweet limestone. Weight shows place and pedigree. What a treat!
