Dark cherries, cranberries, strawberries, hint of plum & blackberry, touch of smoke, black earth, minerals. Lean on the plate and a little flat on the finish.

This bottle was needled with the Coravin a while back. 12 months? The wine shows some oxidation so all these myths that you can put a bottle back in your Cellar is BS! The rating is pretty much unchanged. Plenty of tannins left quite rustic though. Tons of cherries 🍒 chalk minerals orange 🍊 rind on the back palate. The wine gained weight but it lacks elegance and might never be the special bottle you open for thanksgiving. A disappointment given that that Pavelot had such a good name with the experts.

This Pavelot is better than the other 5 which i tasted today. Dark red - subdued cherry and hint of chassis. Better balanced than all the other 09’s and 10’s. i tried. Tart - plenty of tannins - Needs more time my guess is 5 years. For some reasons his wines do not ring a bell 🛎 for me they lack uniqueness.
