Cuvee Antique Cesar
Sharp fruit gripping skin tannins
Not much else to say - a grape varietal to try for fresh ideas, and the notch in the varietal tarting belt.

Surprisingly dark for a red from northern Burgundy, with only purple/black color and an opaque core. Nose offers peppery, blackberry fruit and plenty of density. The palate is medium bodied, with medium plus acid and firm/fine long tannins.
This variety is said to have originated in the south of Europe, likely in the Roman empire and named for Caesar.

As someone else noted, a rare bottle of a super rare red grape from Burgundy called “Cesar” (10 hectares in the world) — very dark color, rich, dark fruits, some noticeable structure, this needs 3-5 years aging to settle down, a great “stump your wine friends” wine!!
