Balanced. Smooth drinking. Mostly dark fruit on nose and palate. A hint of spice. No tannins or heat to speak of. Pleasant and subtle. No fireworks, if that’s your thing.

So, I had this while watching repeats of Top Chef Masters. The timing was ironic and certainly not intentional.

Clearly one could argue that the two principles in this wine are masters at their craft. So, it made me think that should one of the chefs be given subpar ingredients, they are expected to make glorious plates.

At a $15 price point, I'm not suggesting that we get a 97 point wine. But still, I have had far better efforts from far less "known" winemakers. With all their resources and skill, a better wine should have been produced.

The wine itself is acceptable. Nothing memorable. A sad finish. So short!
