From a sample sent by Christos Zafeirakis, this wine is still a infant although there is an obvious shift in style for the better in comparison to its 2015 iteration. Elegance and finesse can sum up this wines personality, intense floral notes on the nose with discreet fruit laden notes of apricots, pears, candied lime, followed by a touch of Zafeirakis salinity. Clear and focused on the palate, the flavors cut through with crisp citrus notes, salinity, and just a dab of stone fruit that adds texture just not as much as the 2015 vintage. There is an inherent balance that just makes sense, this is incredibly fresh and perhaps at least for me a true expression of what Malagousia can be.
