earthy, mineral, gooseberries — 6 years ago
A new single vineyard wine produced by Christos Zafeirakis, featuring 20 year old vines from Paleomilos, fermented and aged for 12 months in 2400 liter oak barrels. Outright it demonstrates the typical Zafeirakis style but with a bit more potency and concentration; incredible aromas of peach, apricots, intense floral aromas of jasmines, orange peel, gunpowder, crushed stones, white pepper, and an almost imperceptible oak laden vanilla note. A midbodied white with a promising structure, flavors of green apples, pears, and apricots on entry, a refreshing saline mineral midpalate with a plethora of citrus that penetrates the long lasting spicy finish with minor hints of buttery oak flavors. Although this is still a infant, there is an inherent balance between fruit, acidity, and oak, reminiscent of a top tier white Burgundy but with the telltale Zafeirakis finesse and saltiness. — 8 years ago

In the spirit of Italian Rose-ie, a savory light red. Demands food, in a non fussy or authoritarian way ( can I say Greek?!). Saltwater red taffy, orange zest, & light pomelo notes. — 7 months ago
Drinking with mom and dad at Sarma. The color is very pale but with more of a hint of green. The nose is very light. The taste is flinty, it has pear notes and a little lemony but isn't super sweet or very sour. Would drink again, was $14 a glass. — 4 years ago

Solid bottling, really enjoyed the white and yellow flowers, acidity and juicy fruit and honey. — a month ago
