Slightly astringent nose upfront that eases up and displays the customary vegetative qualities. Green pepper, ripe blueberries, and thyme. More on the Euro side of Cabernet Franc than American, this is light and smooth with really nice acidity and round tannins. The fruit is there but definitely not the star of the show. This is all about bitter earthiness and traces of funk. And that’s a good thing. Black olives, menthol cigarettes, black tea, and oak show on the palate. A little dried cranberry and cherry also come to play. Short to medium finish with more menthol and moist earth. A pretty pleasing Cab Franc.
