This was the first vintage for DR Stephens. It had been cellared properly since the day it was released. There was a touch of VA at first but it blew off quickly revealing a gorgeously complex Napa Cab. All the hallmarks were there: black fruit, baking spices, chocolate, coffee, dried herbs, vanilla, toffee. It was beautiful. The tannins were settled but still lively which allowed it still taste fresh. What a treat.
