In 1942, a single barrel, which is stored in the "cellar", was put aside with orders that it should only be opened when Puerto Rico becomes a free and independent nation. When and if that ever happens, the cask (barrel) will be taken to the town square in the center of Bayamon and its contents will be offered free to all those who wish to drink from it.

This is the three star. Proves tasting context matters. In a lineup of whiskies, this was too sweet and while complex seemed simple in comparison.

⭐️⭐️⭐️ Sipped neat and enjoyed the aromas that filled the snifter. Nice, less sweet to me, good long finish.

3 star Ron del Barrilito. Great PR rum, tasted with a large ice cube (which I normally drink straight). Satisfying texture, smoky but not overpowering the rum flavors, distinctive taste of molasses in this one.
