Versante Nord Uve Bianche Terre Siciliane Minnella Blend
Blend of Nerello Mascalese (50%), Grenache (20%) and indigenous white varieties Grecanico, Carricante and Coda di Volpe from old, ungrafted vines on a 0.5 hectare plot within the Nave contrada on Etna’s cooler north slope. At over 3,300 ft elevation, the area lies outside/above the upper limit of the Etna DOC, but is nevertheless considered some of Etna’s best terroirs because of the high altitude and length of the growing season (Frank Cornelissen also calls the north side home). Biodynamically farmed. Partially de-stemmed and fermented with indigenous yeasts in cement tanks, aged in old Slavonian oak. Sleek, elegant, refined, with subtle aromas of red fruit, pine, ash and spices. Warm, graceful, mineral.
