First red wine at Elyse Winery. Medium ruby red in appearance. Layered nose with some stewed spices, red plums, cinnamon and savory herbs. Medium tannins (5.5/10) with a medium plus body. Nice punch of spices on the attack of the palate with great acidity, black cherries, twigs and white pepper. Medium plus length finish. Drink till 2022.

Fruit is sourced from two vineyards in the Dry Creek Valley: Teldeschi and Ramazzoti Vineyards. Made up of 82% Zinfandel, 12% Petite Sirah and 6% Carignane. Aged for 10 and a half months in 25% new American oak barrels. Only 1,176 cases produced.
