Emidio Pepe
Trebbiano d'Abruzzo
Surprised by how much I like this. Waxy, honeyed, full and raisiny, but still fresh. I feel like often the whole 'ancient winemaking' thing can be a cover for lazy or bad winemaking, but this shows a skilled touch.

May 31st, 20152006. Enormous wine with palate-coating texture. Kind of like a Northern Rhône white but with much more acidity. Constantly evolving. Waxy, nutty with a fresh citrus peel quality by the end of the night. It had this je ne sais quoi character that was so appealing.
