Dark, glass-clinging amethyst purple. Dusky nose of black fruit, black rubber and black pepper. Full mouthfeel. Firm, woody tannins on entry, yielding to black fruit and pepper. A great wine with burgers or a cheap steak.

Earthy, fertilizer, feed store nose. Love it. Unctuous, dark palate. Silky and polished. Medium length finish. Very well put together.

Blackberries, blueberries, with a little raspberries and cranberries mixed in. This is a blend of Rhône and Bordeaux grapes, with the Rhône seeming to me to be dominant, but tempered. The nose has some herbs and a hint of tobacco leaf. Minerality is a mix of stones and earth with a bit of dry dust. The acidity seemed nicely balanced, and tannins low to moderate. I would have liked a little more of the latter. But it was a good price for the quality.

fruity and chalky, the latter of which is not actually a bad thing - paired well with paella
