Coudoulet de Beaucastel Cotes-du-Rhone Red Rhone Blend
Mid to deep crimson in colour. Notes of red cherry, raspberry and other red fruits together with a charcoal smoky note. The palate is medium plus bodied with those same savoury red fruits finishing with rather coarse tannins. I was expecting more given how good the producer is. “Baby Beaucastel “ as it is known. Will have the next in a year or two. Tasted 78 weeks later on 5th February 2022 with similar notes. A bit square sided.

Dec 27th, 20182015v. Deep violet color. Lots of sun-drenched black cherry, dark plum, and a little toasty brown sugar from the oak. Not the most complex flavors, but everything is very well integrated. The tannin structure is the most notably quality of the wine: they coat your mouth, add a chewy quality, and slowly melt during a very long finish. 14% ABV.
