Far Niente Winery
Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon
This '91 Far Niente Cabernet Sauvignon proves what a spectacular vintage Napa produced that year. A bright translucent garnet with minuscule bricking, complex aromas of cassis, red currant, leather, espresso and tar are still evident. Totally integrated flavors of oak spice and earthy minerals add depth to the extracted mouth. Fully mature tannins smooth the long minty finish. But drink 'em if you got 'em.

Jul 4th, 2014Great balanced flavor, smells like cherry wood and plums (dried). Yummy! Not too sweet and not too dry or bitter. Great wine.

Apr 18th, 2014Haven't tasted this yet, but I'm very excited about it!!!! lighter color. Nose is...well...tomatoey and light fruit. Yum! Ever so slightly dry. Mild. The flavors come out on the finish and aren't overpowering. Very subtle and not spicey. long drying finish.

Apr 18th, 2014I have six remaining bottles of this wine from six different years. They have all at least quadrupled in value. Two of them are invaluable as I can't find them anywhere and they are the oldest with ratings well over 9. I wonder what my heirs are going to do with this wine after I pass away! Drink them? I'm sure I will roll over in my grave.
