Fattoria Le Pupille (Elisabetta Geppetti)
Morellino di Scansano

Medium to deep ruby red. Savory and cherries on the nose. A bit of gravel too. Medium tannins (5.5/10) and balanced acidity. Medium to medium plus body. Needs a little time to open up. Cherries and lots of earthiness. Medium plus to long finish. Drink till 2024.

Dark yet still with some transparency. This is a bit of a fruit bomb with legs to show off its alcohol. Must admit that I was in the mood for this and really liked it. A friend suggested he prefers this, the straight bottling, to the riserva, and having had a few bottles of the riserva I can see why. Nice

Cherry and spice from this underrated DOCG. Also a bit of earthy soil topical of Sangiovese, although this is a blend. Medium finish with the right amount of tannins. Spicier and bolder than the 2018 vintage but may have been due to longer bottle aging. Very enjoyable on a cool night with some crusty Tuscan bread and homemade ragu. A nice wine from a very well respected producer.

Such a wonderfull Sangiovese expression! Very fruity but enough depth and character to keep my attention. And than the pricetag... Good stuff!

Mar 24th, 2019You can feel a very southern touch, warm and sunny. Has typical Chianti nose with cherry, cinnamon, flowers, you can have a feel of the soil trough a steel taste on your tongue. A fresh and joyful version of Chianti
