Darn good Chianti; earthy and rich; fruity and nicely spicy, with a creamy finish. Almost sweet at the finish, though still slightly acidic too. Maureen says, "it has a little bite, but it mellows as you drink it. It's good!"

Oct 3rd, 2016A whole lot for $16. Nose doesn't say Chianti to me, as dark berry and purple fruits feel more Sangiovese grosso. Fragrant with thyme, licorice and notes of sun baked earth olive and flowers. Palate is dense with bright acidity and dusty tannins. Finish is more classically Chianti with cherry, hay, old leather, plus more dusty tannin. Could hold another year or two, but in a great place now

May 21st, 2016A little heavier than I prefer my Chianti. Otherwise, spicy, moderately oaky, purple fruit.
