Sour cherries, plum, blackberries & baked strawberries, softened cedar, dry tobacco w/ ash, leather, dry crushed rocks, dry soil, dark spice box, anise, tarriness, more dark chocolate but some milk chocolate, caramel notes, withering dark & red flowers with dry red roses, nice acidity and still showing firm structure/tension, well balanced and plush 90 second finish.

Has another 7-10 yrs ahead.

Year in, year out, this is my fav Chianti Classico. To me it captures all what I look for in a good every day Sangiovese - freshness, a bit of tannic edge, juicy flow, a savory sweetness to the fruit. And food friendliness!
Enticing nose with red cherries, a bit of wet undergrowth & turned earth, a bit of tomato leaf, a flowery whiff. Joyful!
Medium bodied on the palate with great energy & flow. The tannins present, a touch rustic, but in a nice way, the acidity juicy & vibrant. Nice depth and long finish.
So drinkable but also has some seriousness to it.

Tasty medium/full bodied Chianti Rufina. Has strong aromas of cloves upon opening , with some cherry and interesting herbal notes (primarily mint and bay leaves) emerging with some air. On the palate there are cherry, plum, anise, and cloves with some hints of leather and earthy mushrooms. Has nice freshness and smooth mouthfeel until the tannins emerge towards the finish with some grip and bitterness. Finish has good length with lingering earthy spice and fruit. On day 2, the flavors coalesced nicely with the cloves, anise, and fruit permeating the palate. Also, the tannins calmed down, resulting in a more balanced wine with a supple, fuller mouthfeel. This probably would have benefited from a one or two hour decant on day 1. — 4 days ago
