Intense but overdone Pinot Noir. Fruit-forward with lovely and intense cherry flavors, followed by a nasty, unpleasantly acidic finish.

Earthy. Aged wood saloon. Healthy, enjoyable tannin. Aromatic spices and cinnamon.

Some people are raving about this wine, but I’m unimpressed.

2019 opened March 2022. Rhubarb on the nose. This wine has a smooth bodied medium tannic structure, But I’m wondering if they didn’t use American oak? — Because the tannins have that American oak terpene edge to them. That wouldn’t be bad if there were a more intense range of taste components to balance that edginess — but the front isn’t very fruity (a hint of unripe cherries) — the mid-palate is pure oak — and it has a short finish consisting of a few bitter high notes. Bleh.

The 2019 holds its own with earlier vintages (we love the 2014). Nice compliment to steak.
