Not for me. I found it too “in your face.” Louis Barruol Château de Rouanne partnership, Grenache & Syrah. Tart raspberry nose, but on the palate incredibly smoky and almost ash. I thought it was from overly charred barrels but they told me the wine is called “Tout Nu” because it is ‘totally naked”. No barrel aging, no wood, right out of the steel tank into the bottle a few months ago. The Syrah smokiness is overpowering to me. And the tannins were not astringent but were quite bitter. Very unusual, but I don’t taste samples during wine-making or from barrel before bottling, so not used to this.
