At its absolute peak, not a minute past, utterly beautiful! Potent and concentrated aromas of dark ripe cherries, berries; gorgeous tertiary mushroom and sous bois. Tart cherry. Loads of youthful vibrance, balanced with so much mature complexity.

Hall berg Vineyard-Dijon Clones. Bright cherry and blueberry w/ notes of vanilla on the nose. Some grassy and lavender. Clear and bright. Nice age on the bottle. On the palette, super smooth, tart cherry, blueberry, light oak. Some bitterness, tartness on sides of palette.

Wine tasting at Gary Farrell. Couldn’t get the bottles so you see the menu! Love their Chardonnays. More of a French burgundy approach. We all liked the first Pinot. Light with red fruit. Then palates divided as we went down the line. The Pinots are not to my liking but well made wines- just not my flavor profile. California Pinot always has a hint of tin/ metal for me.

Really nice Pinot enjoyed tonight! I'm not sure that I liked previous vintages of this as much as this one. Sweeter fruit in the front and back. Sort of a roasted raspberry nose combined with good acidity, a little bit of Earth, very ample young fruit. The thing this one needs more than anything else is about three years in the bottle. Went exceptionally well with herbed pork.
