Giacomo Borgogno & Figli
Dolcetto d'Alba
First time to have a wine from this producer. Was excited but really wanted more from this. Tired and just like thin blackberry juice.

Dec 30th, 2016Nice ripe dark juicy fruit but not too sweet. Very smooth. Love it especially at this price point.

Jun 20th, 2015Floral and fruity. A little bit acidic and you can feel the bitter alcohol in the short finish. Balanced and light, making it a nice choice for lunch.

Mar 2nd, 2014A powerful Dolcetto
with a good balance. Ruby-purple in colour, on the nose is v. expressive and all on the fruity side, with prominent, distinct black
cherry notes and mixed berries in the background. In the mouth it has more body and structure than usual with a good freshness that helps not make it too soft (and it isn't). Some quiet bitter notes, but not the marked almond note one can find in other Dolcettos (and other light reds in Northern Italy). A balsamic note (that was not so evident on the nose) joins red fruitiness in a good finish.
