There are a handful of benchmark Cabernet Sauvignon wines from Washington. Gramercy Cellars makes one of my favorites. Something I look forward to in all wines is ripeness/not overripe and this 2011 balances and delivers. I love the floral notes in Cabernet Sauvignon. Theirs often deliver a signature violet-perfume aroma that’s fantastic. There are more expensive wines from Walla Walla, or elsewhere in Washington but none better.

Mar 9th, 2016Dark red to purple in color. Nose of cherry, currant, cedar and spice. Palate of the same plus some graphite. Above average finish with good acidity and tannins present. Overall, very good.
