Harris Estate Vineyards
Treva's Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon
Impressive color intensity given its age. Took about 15-20 minutes to open up, but after that this wine started to show nicely. Surprisingly vibrant nose of black currants, black cherry, with secondary aromas only apparent on the edge. The palate is medium-to-full bodied with a great mouthfeel. The wine definite benefits from maintaining it at cellar temp - becomes a bit cloying as it warms up - but at lower temp the wine maintains a vibrancy on the palate. The finish is surprisingly lingering, likely the benefit of a lot of glycerin. I can't recall if this was the first or second vintage from Harris - certainly one of the early ones - and I haven't had any of the more recent offerings. But, I have to say that I'm impressed with how this one has evolved over the years. Well done!
