This Shiraz/Mataro blend from Henschke is absolutely lovely, finished in screwcap, great youthful darkfruits and some nice oak to frame it, clearly needs 5-7 years of cellaring, but a lovely wine tonight. Incidentally, the restaurant in Penola (Coonawarra, South Australia) where we drank this tonight is fabulous, for me, better than many of the overpriced, under-delivering restaurants in Napa these days (Restaurant is called “Pipers of Penola”, the front of which was a 1920 Methodist Church!!).
