Opaque purple. Heady, smoke-tinged aromas of ripe black currant and cherry are complemented by suggestions of mocha, vanilla, cured meat and pipe tobacco. Sweet and expansive on the palate, offering deep-pitched dark fruit preserve, cherry cola, vanilla and floral pastille flavors sharpened by a hint of cracked pepper. Gently chewy tannins build steadily on a very long, dark-fruit- and spice-driven finish that leaves a hint of espresso behind. 70% new French oak. (Josh Raynolds, Vinous, February 2020)

The eclectic blends of new world macerated wines that are ready to drink. Herman Story is a top notch vineyard. Cab dominate blend but with 32%petit Verdot. Blue fruit with a hearty nose. Even keeled on the palate and longer finish make this beauty enticing.
