Hirsch Vineyards
East Ridge Pinot Noir
Sonoma Coast, Sonoma County, California, USA
A bit of grape/grape candy fruit that opens up a bit more on day 2, but overall this is a subtle, “Burgundian” Pinot with a palate dominated by mushroomy earth, white flower, pepper, and moss. Surprisingly one-note for the price point, with little development and a bit of a confused, bitter finish. Nose is very closed. Perhaps in a dumb period?

Solid pinot. A bit earthier and woody than I was expecting but as it opened up a very balanced and enjoyable wine. Lovely aromatics but fell short of knocking my socks off.
