Wild strawberry and raspberry, a savory edge adds spice and some thyme like herbal notes. Fine and firm tannin gives structure. Not soft by any means this has good structure and also boasts excellent acidity and balance. Copain is on a short list of Pinot producers I still enjoy or might buy from in CA these days.

Wonderfully fragrant & totally delicious. The #wine is by Alex Davis, owner & #vigneron at #portercreek. This 2002 comes from #vines his father planted in the late 70's. Not one the fat, syrupy #wines coming out of the #RussianRiverValley. NOPE! This is electric with life, earthy, & perfect #pinot for #truffles! With #ABV at just 13.4%, the is #pinotnoir that #IPOB denizens should enjoy! — 11 years ago
