Lovely ruby reflectives. Dried, ripe and hard red candied cherry aromas. Plummy with porcini and trumpet mushroom, sprinkles of cedar and cinnamon. Dried cranberry and cherry echo on the palate, amplified. Warm strawberry and cola complete the fruit picture, but it is not simply fruity exhibiting white pepper, soft sage and a minuscule rosemary. Generous.

Lovely Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir, hitting its peak with dried cherry nose, raspberry, roast beef, grilled pork, rose petal, roobios, graphite, dried blueberries. Rich mouthfeel showing cola nut, espresso, fruit and barrel tannic underpinnings, aforementioned roobios, lavender and roses, raisins, figs, dates, clove, peppercorn and cinnamon perfectly portioned in an intense wash of raspberry, smoky, bitter savory, nettle and an anise afterthought. Incredible wine from a serious house that always delivers their intense manifestations with grace and finesse. Rich in every sense.

I have a basic rule and more so with good #Pinot and that is...if my wife and I take more than one day to finish the bottle than it ain’t great and if we take more than 2 days, well...it ain’t great either. This is a let down and lately most#southafricanwine is a let down. This gives off ethyl acetate and volatile acidity aromas and that acidity bites as you sip. — 6 years ago

Medium ruby,
medium aromas simple red fruit (raspberry, strawberry, redcurrant and cranberry) and hints of spice (pepper, cinnamon)
on the palate dry, high acidity, medium alcohol, medium tannins, medium body, medium(-) finish

good. the aromas and flavours are all primary and only of tart red fruit, there is little complexity of aromas. On the palate the wine is tart with high acidity and a lack of rich fruit or sweetness to balance that acidity. The finish leaves sensations of acidity and alcohol. The wine seems simple.

The wine is suitable for bottle ageing. acidity+chewy tannins and medium alcohol and medium color good color extraction and therefore maceration of the #Pinot. — 7 years ago
