One of my favorite things about #sonomacoast pinot is the way that it can show densely packed fruit in such a light and lifted wine. This is a great example of that style, so loaded with bright fruit and well balanced with acidity in a wine that is shimmering red amd translucent. Definitely aged by sight, nose, and palate. Med intensity on the nose which was dominated by dying fruit, mushrooms, and forest floor. There were some signs of sweet red fruit. The palate was mostly dried out with menthol notes dominating. Lovely Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir, hitting its peak with dried cherry nose, raspberry, roast beef, grilled pork, rose petal, roobios, graphite, dried blueberries. Rich mouthfeel showing cola nut, espresso, fruit and barrel tannic underpinnings, aforementioned roobios, lavender and roses, raisins, figs, dates, clove, peppercorn and cinnamon perfectly portioned in an intense wash of raspberry, smoky, bitter savory, nettle and an anise afterthought. Incredible wine from a serious house that always delivers their intense manifestations with grace and finesse. Rich in every sense.

Wonderfully transparent labeling; it’s clear from their terroir and the label notes that they are seeking a Californian cool-weather Burgundian style. Oyster shell mineral, tart citrus and green melon + apple on the nose. Wonderful Chablisenne acidity on the palate, soft buttery notes and some spice on the finish from restrained application of new oak.
