Bright nose with tropical notes of underripe pineapple, lemon and lime. Lemon bread, white mushroom and chive. Silky mousse that leaps into lime the pineapple, lemon verbena, lime pith and creamy lemon. The yeast is there around the edges, but shapes more than defines. Textural perfection.

Full disclosure, I picked up this bottle at Costco for a great price without looking too closely at the vintage. Turned out to be a nice score on quality aged #carneros #chardonnay. Apple juice color in the glass so it has aged/oxidized quite a bit. It’s a bit reticent on the nose but as it warmed the wine presents baked apple, caramel and nutty notes. Still juicy acidity up front on the palate, bruised and baked apple notes galore and some nice warming spice on the finish. Paired fairly well with some Asian stir fried vegetables and Thai curry. #costcowines — 6 months ago

I took a gamble on an otherwise limited wine list at a pizza chain restaurant. 🎲 rolled 7 with this #montereycounty #chardonnay. Nothing profound on the aromatics, lemon, stone fruit, touch of butterscotch. Refreshing acidity on the palate entry, nice texture and spice on the finish from temperate use of new oak. We ordered a second bottle. With the acidity it paired nicely with sausage and pepperoni pizza as well as prosciutto and mushroom. — 6 months ago
