So glad our impressions from the tasting at the Lytton Springs tasting room was borne out over a year later. You probably haven’t had a #chardonnay like this. This vintage has a distinctive green curry leaf (Bergera koenigii) aroma, backed by dried pineapple, toasted almonds. There’s some weight on the palate, stone fruit, pear and hints of vanilla. I truly appreciate a skillfully curated wine list at an upscale Indian restaurant. This #stellenbosch #chardonnay paired beautifully with most of our dishes, ordered medium or less spice level. Lemony apple aromas, some toasty notes. The 20% new French oak is incredibly well integrated and there’s plenty of acidity, minerality and texture on the palate. — 4 months ago

Full disclosure, I picked up this bottle at Costco for a great price without looking too closely at the vintage. Turned out to be a nice score on quality aged #carneros #chardonnay. Apple juice color in the glass so it has aged/oxidized quite a bit. It’s a bit reticent on the nose but as it warmed the wine presents baked apple, caramel and nutty notes. Still juicy acidity up front on the palate, bruised and baked apple notes galore and some nice warming spice on the finish. Paired fairly well with some Asian stir fried vegetables and Thai curry. #costcowines — 10 months ago

I took a gamble on an otherwise limited wine list at a pizza chain restaurant. 🎲 rolled 7 with this #montereycounty #chardonnay. Nothing profound on the aromatics, lemon, stone fruit, touch of butterscotch. Refreshing acidity on the palate entry, nice texture and spice on the finish from temperate use of new oak. We ordered a second bottle. With the acidity it paired nicely with sausage and pepperoni pizza as well as prosciutto and mushroom. — 10 months ago
