Ramey’s interpretation of #claret is quite interesting. After 9 years of bottle time it’s aged more than expected. Stewed plum, quite faint dark fruit on the nose. Prominent acidity on palate, primary fruit exited stage left, some sherry notes but still noticeable tannins. 68% #cabernetsauvignon, 18% #merlot, 6% #syrah, 4% #malbec, 4% #petitverdot — 10 months ago
Beautiful #syrah from Keenan, albeit opened way too early. Posh bramble berry on the nose, starting to get some of that Syrah meaty black olive character as it warms. Delicious acidity on palate, not inconsequential tannins on the finish that build. Lovely wine but can’t help thinking it would be glorious in a decade. — 10 months ago
Varietally typical, tasty #syrah. Black fruit preserves set against meaty earthy notes on nose, classic dark fruit + black olive and distinct acidity on palate. #sonomavalley — a year ago
2016 vintage. Red plum, hoisin, shiitake on soft wood, cinnamon and cedar, coffee rye, palm bark, lilac. Expansive sour cherry, cranberry, pipe tobacco, leather, apple skin, allspice, nutmeg and clove. Really a perfect Côtes du Rhône from a great vintage, shining, deific at eight years.

Eminently quaffable #costieresdenimes ; brier black/purple berries, cassis, soft spicy aromas, plush on palate with succulent acidity underlayment, dark cocoa and coffee notes mid-palate through finish, tannins that build deceptively with each sip. This could be even better in half a decade but delicious Rhône blend even today - 70% #syrah 30% #grenache . — a year ago
Incredible wine. The #syrah in this is singing and banging. Amazing. #corbieres — a year ago
