#brett funky and expensive. #bairrada apparently is always going to be a risk as far as funkiness and defects are concerned, but at around 40€ a bottle, give me an excellent Spanish wine, a Douro or a Bordeaux for that matter. — 6 years ago

53 Ch Kirwan : glorious medium bodied rose colour obviously with browning at meniscus but still looking in super shape for a wine of this age. Classically cool crisp Bordeaux nose , the bouquet of rose, a hint of "terroir" (Brett) ; lively (!) entry, flavours of rose , bramble berry , lovely touch of fruit sweetness (!) long flavours dancing thanks to beautiful natural acidity. Classic Margaux commune. A beauty.
