State of Brewing, Wisconsin. Blonde Ale. Aldi advent calendar. Straw-golden with hints of amber. Enormous head fizzles quickly to a scrofulous pittance. Banana bread nose, suggests lemon bread, orange and grapefruit, yeast and corn muffin. Binary lacing at best; insect linguistic anomaly or fish lips of wax meet old flames. Lemongrass and lime zest find commonality in a hyper-mineral, metallic, and zippy coalescence. Golden and gorgeous, but simultaneously austere in a weird way.

Swirly-cloud, pear-from-syrup colored nectar boasting old-newspaper-“white”, frothy mallow-moon icing. Grapefruit candy meets ginger candy at the soft lemon foam; tenderness ensues. Spun sugar pith on sticks, lemon and orange marshmallows away gently in tangerine breezes. A frozen pineapple iceberg floats by, it’s head peeping innocently above the swirly floes. Damn refreshing frozen knife of summer. Stick with it. .

Orange amber, orange blossom and orange taste for orange season. White-beige head with vinous lacing. Blood orange, plums, caramel nougat, smells of grapefruit on the grill, lemons too. Belgian malt echoes, nutritional yeast, candied orange, orange zest, marmalade, caramel and carrot bread. Easy drinker, but depth is there, and delightful interplay of sweet and citrus! Really thoughtful ipa. .

State of Brewing Scottish ale. Aldi advent beer.
Auburn, red-brown amber. Cream colored head echoes creamy wash of lacing that breaks to chicken bone divination and ant-farm spelunking, and finally to Keith Haring tic-tacs until cobwebs. Malty notes poke through earthy hole of coffee, mocha, and shaved dark chocolate with clove and nutmeg and black mushroom. Coffee emerges strong and all malt lies buried, but it is cold brew, medium body and flatter through creaminess. Lingering arabica.

Waited a bit to get spooky with this one! Boo! Orange sourdough, caramel glass, cinnamon-chiles, cardamom, and cedar with dark brown sugar, dates and molasses. Fly agaric lacing does the micro polka on the glass as mystic swirls of smoke trace spirals from the cream colored top to the surface skim. Cinnamon leads the gourd charge, sweet potato follows, pepper and black raisin buttress those initials, while darkened caramel fills the void of clove, burnt candy and BBQ blood orange before swisher cherry sweetness.

Amber waves with egg white colored foam halo. Laced with paisley slippage hippo-crocodile submersions. Lovely clementine nose with candied lemon and grapefruit peels, green strawberries, bruised pineapple, and lime kefir. Lemon on the lips, then smoothie of lime and near-peach, grapefruit and kumquat, yellow mulberry, and lemon cream. Teally good session ipa here! Best of class!

Hazy, rosy amber with large spongy cotton head. Desert scrub lacing and fallen branches covered in snow that sticks like pasta. Dank-y mosaics inform carrot-muffin iced with pineapple grapefruit and tangerine in abundance. Hemp-y notes persist on the palate, awash in tangerine and pomelo, dried basil and black lime. Sessionably fortified for easy drinking, but not so creamy as one would expect with the mosaic addition. Very good job keeping the balance.

Gorgeous nose of honeyed fig, tangerine, Meyer lemon, pink grapefruit, banana-coconut pie and pineapple sorbet. Zippy and lively metallic entry brings grapefruit oil in abundance, lime zest, lemongrass, lemon verbena, chive, starfruit, green mango, key lime, white pepper and ruby grapefruit pulp and pith.
