2016 vintage. Red plum, hoisin, shiitake on soft wood, cinnamon and cedar, coffee rye, palm bark, lilac. Expansive sour cherry, cranberry, pipe tobacco, leather, apple skin, allspice, nutmeg and clove. Really a perfect Côtes du Rhône from a great vintage, shining, deific at eight years.

From magnum. This vineyard is just across the highway from the winery and the chateauneuf du pape appellation, thus cotes du rhone. But made the same way as all of their other reds. Spice, bramble fruit, incense, gravely minerality, medium tannins and nice acid. Should’ve waited, but on vacation, so.. 😁

This little guy is drinking very nicely but, what would u expect I love CDP & Cote Du Rhône’s. Has a bit of pepper fine grained mid palate and a lively finish. I’ll take another.....

Ready to go with a pop and pour. Likely to improve with another 5 years. Hard to beat price wise vs quality in this region. Very good

Jul 9th, 2020Fruit bomb toned down after an hour (aerate). From there on kirsch and stewed fruit, subtle herbs and firm acidity as a counterweight. A fantastic coudoulet, outpacing many cndp’s.
