Pop.and pour, 1 hr slow ox. Absolutely crushable. On the nose:.black tea, cardamom, wild strawberry, black cherry compote. On the palate: fantastic acidity, good density, more.black tea and cardamom, with juicy black currant, black pepper, pomegranate seed and a thin line of finely grained tannin. Excellent. — 5 hours ago
On the nose: bright apple and floral notes, with soft honey notes in the background. On the palate: fantastic acidity, sweet apple, soft oxidative notes, beeswax, ok density..maybe slightly thin on the midpalate, but a solid, tangy, juicy finish. — 3 days ago
Solid, if still unyielding on the finish. On the nose: violets, blood orange, roses, then some nice hi-toned va gloss. On the palate: excellent acidity, sour cherry, blood orange, soft herbal notes, then the tannin kicks in, and it is dense...very juicy on the slightly hot finish. Good with our white bean stew. — 6 days ago
Popped and poured, but notes from 1.5 hrs open. On the nose: a glorious, dense, melange of fruit, lees, marzipan, herbs. On the palate: fantastic acidity and density, soft and very fine mousse, ripe grapefruit, laserlike precision, soft bitter herbs..just stunning, but would have been better with oysters.
Day 2: Wow. Soft oxidative notes...complex and yet so drinkable. Utterly fantastic. — 4 days ago
I adore the '12 vintage of this wine (however, in a blind tasting it showed like RRV PN, which is not a compliment), but this btl showed as, for lack of a more precise term, gloop. On the nose: sweet rose, orange, cranberry, black tea. On the palate: ok acidity, cranberry, black tea, disjointed acidity, orange peel...consistent with the nose, but not so compelling. — 3 days ago
Pop and pour, notes from 2 hrs open. A bit more than a year since my last btl. On the nose: loads of grassy notes and sour apple, with some lemon peel in the background. On the palate: excellent acidity, and good juiciness with sweet apple, vanilla, and loads of wet stone. Comes off as sweeter than I remember. A touch short on the finish, which shows juicy with black pepper spice and the smallest bit of heat. — 6 days ago
