#languedoc #grenache #garnacha #france as someone else mentioned it is quite “big” I would say rich and ripe very #mediterranean — 6 years ago
#blend of 28% #Syrah, 26% #Grenache, 24% #Carignan, 15% #Cinsault and 7% #Mourvèdre, all aged a year in older demi-muids and 500-liter casks. 13.5% alcohol, medium-bodied, even hollow on mid-palate. It's red-fruited and has overtones of savory spice (think salami, cracked pepper and star anise) and a bright, juicy medium finish #languedocrousillon #languedoc #suddefrance #france #larsac #terrassesdularsac — 6 years ago
Seamless, polished and chiseled Grenache/Syrah co-ferment. No brett; neither oxidative nor reductive. Impressively moderate (14%) alcohol for 2015; persistent and fine sandstone mineral qualities. All raspberries and almost plush. #magellan #grenache #syrah #pezenas #languedoc — 8 years ago
Great #wine from #Languedoc.
Golden color hues. Soft yellow apple aromas, some peach. Flavors of white blossom, tigjt apricot and soft peach. Free run juice and stainless. A steal! Opened 7/20/17 — 9 years ago
Most unusual wine in a while. Cow manure, cat litter and blackberry aromas, which eventually mellowed out. Bold acidity and berry finish. Super complicated but still enjoyable through all the shenanigans! #languedoc #France — 9 years ago
So fine. Aromatic, graceful, bright. Garrigue, fennel seed, fraises. Aged in old Volnay barrels. #languedoc #carignane #syrah #grenache — 9 years ago
Enjoyable #languedoc #vermentino #marsanne #grenacheblanc blend - medium plus body, golden yellow color. Melon, some nutty & honey notes on nose, interesting salty note from Vermentino on the palate. Could be interesting wine paired with charcuterie. #costcowines — 3 years ago
Fine and balanced. Just juicy enough #paysdoc #languedoc — 6 years ago
Well-crafted #languedoc #cabernetsauvignon from Domaine Brenac. It may very well be marketed towards US-drinkers with the varietal labeling but that doesn’t mean it’s not good. It takes some time to open up to reveal solid bramble berry nose, good concentration and classic French balance of fruit against acidity plus some hints of peppery spice on the finish and fine tannins. Excellent QPR on this one from #wsjwineclub — 6 years ago
Vintage 2012 / My marriageday. So better choose a wine that suits my Love. It does! This #picsaintloup has a shy smell. At 6 years old it has something of everything: spicyness, cherries, minerals. But it is the velvety taste, soooo smooth, that blows you off position. 14 procent alcohol but not disturbing. #languedoc rules. #syrah — 8 years ago
Friday night, what should I pick up at the neighborhood PCC? Why, this little Languedoc red blend, and on sale? Well, ok then! This bottle is 40% Grenache, 30% Carignan, 30% Syrah from the Corbières-Boutenac AOC, with the Boutenac terroir receiving AOC status in 2005. The wine region is in the south of France, nestled between the Mediterranean and the Spanish border with 95% of the wine coming out of Languedoc, and Corbières especially, being red wine. This specific winery has been operating since 1987, with grapes growing on and off on their farms since Roman times. The bottle has a sticker that indicates a gold medal place in the 2016 Concours des Grands Vins de France à Macon - not sure I'm on board with that, however paired with a rich spinach risotto with crispy leaks, it served its purpose nicely. ~$17 | #languedoc #corbieres #redblend
On the eyes: Deep, concentrated, ruby red, med stain, med tears, no gas/floc.
On the nose: Burnt orange peel, red plum, raspberry, bit of vanilla, nutmeg. Med alcohol.
On the tongue: Med+ tannin, med+ acid, med alcohol, med body, a bit chewy. Bright raspberry, ripe plum, a bit of tobacco, a bit peppery, good mineralty. Not much of a finish - but quite pleasant with food. Decant and let it open! — 9 years ago

Blend of #Grenachegris and #grenacheblanc and #Macabeu.
Alluvial Rolled clay pebbles for the Macabeu.
Shale (schist) lands for Grenache.
Fermentation of musts in demi muids (500 l), aging on lees. Racking of wines and bottling without fining (a little reduction on the nose) #languedoc #languedocroussillon #roussillon — 6 years ago
#frenchwine #redwine #languedoc #frenchredwine the #grenache, #syrah and #carignan are having a fruity party in my mouth. The perfect wine to drink at this transitional time of the year. Notes of Strawberry and raspberry provide the foundation and topped off with a hint of minerals. Very affordable, 2 thumbs up for this one! 👍🏻👍🏻 #lesdarons well done #jeffcarrel — 8 years ago

Better than 2013...don't hate. More pleasurable overall. 😏 #languedoc #France — 9 years ago
Kaffir, lemongrass, chamomile. Saline. Unctuous and long. Possibly the best Magellan Blanc ever. Special. #languedoc #grenacheblanc #roussanne — 9 years ago
