Les Darons Languedoc Grenache Blend
A nose of a well crafted, organic fruit popsicle.
First sip tells me this is going to be another enjoyable wine from this producer. Slate plates, topped with a fruit compote that has been melding for a couple of days. Lip smacking acidity that shows this med touched fruit off as it is. Just the slightest hint of iodine, yet that could be from my dental implant uncovering..
Southern France has so much to offer, with well made wine, that showcase the terroir.

1 person found it helpfulFeb 10th, 2019A blend of 75% Grenache, 20% Syrah & 5% Carignan with no oak aging. Pleasant big red fruit aromas with complementing spice. On the palate blackberry and cherry flavors, almost jammy with pepper spice and balanced acidity. Round tannins, medium+ length ending with a mineral finish. Nice value, a little more southern geography this would cost more $. Tasting Sample.

Jan 31st, 2017Really pleasant wine. Welcomed intermission in between lighter reds as we moved on into Bordeaux. Red fruits, long finish, juicy in a good way!

Dec 21st, 2016Nice blend of Grenache (75%), Syrah (20%) and Carignan (5%). No oak - aged in concrete. Aromas and flavors of black cherry, blueberry and violets. Medium to full bodied. Nicely balanced acidity and tannins. Plush, plump, round and elegant. Great value and pleasant surprise. Thank You Ron B!

Mar 28th, 2022See my comments below. Just amazing: dust, earth, spices, pepper, toasted bread and a lot of black and blue berries. Melts on the palate. Magic!
