Enjoyable #languedoc #vermentino #marsanne #grenacheblanc blend - medium plus body, golden yellow color. Melon, some nutty & honey notes on nose, interesting salty note from Vermentino on the palate. Could be interesting wine paired with charcuterie. #costcowines — 3 years ago
Outstanding white #rhone style blend from Reddy Vineyards #texashighplains AVA. 35% #roussane ; 33% #marsanne and 32% #viognier . Commendably moderate ABV at 13.5% . Golden straw color in glass. Nose features apple and stone fruit - mouthwatering acidity on the palate, great texture and a long finish. 720 cases produced so a lovely TX rarity. — 3 years ago

Different from what I am used to, but then perhaps I really need to taste a lot more #Viognier I guess this one may take some time to grow on me.

(55% Viognier, #Marsanne from #StPeray , and #Roussanne ) — 10 years ago
As expected with the #viognier extroverted nose - white flowers, fresh hay, wildflower honey plus some dried herb savory undertones; Lush and juicy palate courtesy of a portion matured 8 months in French oak. I can imagine this would pair well with baked oysters cooked on the half shell with a parsley butter. 75% #viognier 25% #marsanne — 3 years ago

Marsanne, the more acidic, less flavorful cousin of Roussanne, is a grape grown primarily in the Loire valley, though it is gaining popularity in California and Australia as a boutique option to the more standard fair of perennial table white varietals. It's often blended for still or sparkling white wines as it yields weight and structure to the blend. Alone, it can suffer greatly from a lack of complex or deep flavors and this can be especially true in colder climates and underripe fruit. Pro tip: try drinking Marsanne at a red wine temp to try to coax out its depth of flavor - though this one is nothing to write home about. ~$14 | #loirevalley #marsanne #whitewine
On the eyes: Pale yellow-straw, bright and clear, med- stain, med- tears, no gas/floc.
On the nose: Cashew and quince, vinous, and mineralty. Not much there. Med- alcohol.
On the tongue: Med+ acid, med tannin, med- alcohol, med body - a bit flabby. Quince, unripe pear, lawn clippings, and slate - not a lot of flavor here, either cold or slightly warm. Again, tastes like cheap flat champagne. — 10 years ago
