Finally getting around to posting wines from my annual Napa trip from two weeks ago. Always goes by quick! Lots of fun new stops this year.
We returned to Hourglass after our visit in 2018 as the wines are just so enjoyable, but the tasting cave may be one of the coolest spots to enjoy a glass of wine.
Consistently a top merlot for me. This vintage shows a slightly darker profile with added savory notes. Still mainly black cherry with baking spices, coffee beans and cherry tobacco leaves up front, but it turns spice and cinnamon driven with currant, plum and dark cocoa toward the finish.

1 person found it helpfulFeb 23rd, 2020I absolutely LOVE this Merlot. Not my usual go to grape varietal, but this one has some big characteristics & depth on it, which gives it the taste of age.
