I picked up a couple of half-bottles at an auction. 22 year old is very old for a Napa Cab and a half-bottle ages much faster than a standard, so I’d normally stay away from this. But, 96 is a good vintage for ageing (according to the vintage chart) so I took the gamble. Notes of prunes, ripe black cherry, leather, a little bit of shoe polish and crushed red pepper. Tannins is soft but acidity is still there.
